Terms of Service

PolicyJaano uses AI to analyze insurance policy documents you upload or select, and to answer your questions about those documents through BHAI, our AI assistant.

The Service is not an insurance company, broker, agent, or IRDAI-registered intermediary. It does not sell insurance, and nothing on the Service constitutes an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to purchase any specific insurance product. Analysis and chat responses are AI-generated explanations of your own documents for informational purposes only — they are not legal, financial, medical, or claim-outcome advice, and they do not guarantee any insurance decision or claim result. Always verify with your insurer or a licensed advisor before acting on anything the Service tells you.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be 18 or older to use the Service. You're responsible for all activity under your account.

You retain ownership of any policy documents you upload. By uploading a document, you grant us a limited license to process it (including sending extracted text to AI providers) solely to provide the Service to you — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail on how this data is handled and never used for.

You confirm you have the right to upload the documents you provide (e.g. it's your own policy, or one you have permission to analyze on behalf of a family member).

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
• Upload documents that aren't genuine insurance policy documents in an attempt to abuse or manipulate the AI analysis.
• Use automated means to scrape, extract, or bulk-download content from the Service beyond your own account's data.
• Rely on the Service as a substitute for professional legal, financial, medical, or insurance advice.

Policy analysis, risk scores, and BHAI's responses are generated by AI systems and, despite our best efforts (structured extraction, schema validation, and clause-level citations back to your source document), may occasionally be incomplete, inaccurate, or fail to capture the full nuance of your policy wording. The risk score is a simplified heuristic, not a certified or regulatory rating. You are solely responsible for verifying any information from the Service against your actual policy document and with your insurer before relying on it for any decision.

The Service is currently provided free of charge during our launch phase. We may introduce paid plans in the future with advance notice. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when your account is deleted.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PolicyJaano and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any decision made or claim outcome based on AI-generated analysis. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email and/or a notice on the Service before they take effect. Continued use after that point means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India, in the city where PolicyJaano is registered.
